The morning of the event, I was hyped.
I was nervous with the swim because my previous swim was herendous at Lake Lanier. Over the course of the month, I hired Megan Melgaard as my swim coach. She got my stroke presentable and I used less energy swimming longer distances.
Even with this new improve swim stroke and technique, I was nervous. Needless to say I cut my swim time in half at this triathlon finishing 1/3 of a mile in 14 minutes. A considerable improvement from 30 minutes previously.
When I got to my location, I was ready. I setup my spot and chilled out.
When I did my swim, I just kept telling myself to keep going. When I got out of the water, I was so happy, I did a happy dance. LOL
The bike was about the same basically avg a little under 17 mph. I wont round up, even though I am tempted. My transition from the swim to the bike took 1:17.
My running surprised me. I couldnt believe that I kept my basic 10 minute mile after the swim and bike. I finished the 3K in 30 minutes. Although I did better than I thought running, I got a cramp after exiting the bike.
I had a great time and Peachtree City, I must say, you all do a great job of hosting the triathlon. I would definitely do it again.
Afterwards, we went to IHOP. That's our victory brunch tradition!
